Internet Television

Thanks to the fast fiber-optic and unlimited usage internet from Telmex, Internet Television Services are fast becoming the most popular way to get your TV fix.  Internet TV usually requires a device, although some Smart TVs can be programmed to deliver TV Services.   There are many providers around.  In this section we talk about the providers we understand are popular in Los Cabo’s Ex-Pat community.

CABOINTERNETV is a local provider of internet television services.   CaboInterneTV provides TV services over a variety of devices and TVs which they provide as well from their location on Leona Vicario in Cabo San Lucas.  Devices include Google Chromecast, Amazon Firesticks, Nvidia Shield TV and Hisense Android TVs.

THE GADGET GUYS is a local provider of internet television services.  Their offering is very unique.   It establishes a network tunnel through the Internet to their own servers in the United States.  This is a Private Network as opposed to a Virtual Private Network (VPN).  This arrangement guarantees US content for Netflix, Hulu and other streaming services.  Almost every cable provider is making their programming available online so this is also a great option for snowbirds and part-timers in Cabo.  All the same programming that you have already paid for is available to you in Cabo without the hassles of dealing with VPNs.

Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)

Lastly, a word about VPNs.   Not all VPNs are created equal and they are not always the answer to getting the programming you want.  Netflix is the most wise to VPN use and seems to be able to spot every VPN out there.  Other streaming services are less sophisticated so having a VPN can help access the programming you want.
